The Eastend Food Futures is preparing to launch its Food Bank. Operating on a foundation of dignity, respect, and zero judgment, this upcoming service will provide emergency food parcels, essential toiletries, and long-term support to help local residents navigate financial hardship and the cost-of-living crisis.

Here is an overview of how the service will work once open:

• Getting Support: The food bank will provide  emergency food parcels alongside non-food essentials (toiletries, nappies, and cleaning supplies). Provisions will accommodate dietary requirements, allergies, and limited cooking facilities (such as kettle-only packs). Access will be available via local agency referrals only via doctors, schools, Citizens Advice.

• Giving Help: To stock the shelves ahead of opening, the initiative will rely on community generosity. Supporters will be able to donate financial funds, volunteer their time, or drop off urgently needed items (tinned goods, UHT milk, toiletries, and larger size nappies) at designated Hub drop-off point.

• Long-Term Impact: Beyond immediate crisis relief, the food bank will be fully integrated into the Community Opportunities Hub, immediately connecting users with onsite specialists for benefits advice, debt management, and energy support to address the root causes of poverty.
