Community Opportunities Hub
Community Opportunities Hub - coming soon!
The Community Opportunities Hub will provide a welcoming, inclusive space where residents can connect, share experiences, and support one another. Weekly drop‑ins, peer support, and group activities will help people build friendships and strengthen community ties, while collaboration with local partners will widen referrals and deepen relationships across the area. The hub will also offer practical advice on food and fuel poverty, signposting to essential services, and support for those facing financial hardship. By providing free digital access, help with online applications, and guidance on managing rising costs, the project will reduce pressure on individuals and partner organisations. Its community‑led approach, shaped by ongoing feedback, ensures that people most affected by the cost‑of‑living crisis receive timely, accessible support that strengthens resilience and connection across the community.

Why Partner with the Community Opportunities Hub?
Eastend Futures CIC seeks funding to establish a 12‑month Community Opportunities Hub supporting residents across Newcastle upon Tyne and North Tyneside who are experiencing barriers to employment, financial hardship, and social isolation. The hub will provide a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible space where local people can access practical support, build confidence, and take positive steps towards improved wellbeing and future opportunities.
The project will deliver structured one‑to‑one coaching, advocacy, and tailored employability guidance to help individuals identify their strengths, overcome personal barriers, and progress towards employment, training, or volunteering. This personalised approach combines confidence building with practical action planning, enabling participants to develop new skills while increasing motivation, resilience, and self‑belief.
Key activities include one‑to‑one employability support such as CV development, job searching, application support, and interview preparation; digital inclusion support with access to computers, internet facilities, and digital skills help; and online learning opportunities to improve employability. The hub will also provide advice on financial hardship, including food and fuel poverty, alongside weekly community drop‑in sessions offering informal guidance, peer support, and opportunities to connect with others. Dedicated confidential support will be available for women affected by domestic abuse, helping them access specialist services and rebuild confidence and independence.
