I have over 15 years’ experience working in the East End of Newcastle, supporting individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals. I began my journey in 2011 with Building Futures East, where I have delivered a wide range of projects focused on learning, development, and progression.
Over the years, my role has grown from teaching and direct support to project management, ensuring that programmes meet required standards and are delivered to a high quality. I am passionate about helping people build confidence, develop skills, and move forward in their lives.
My work has always been driven by a genuine commitment to the community, and I take pride in creating supportive, inclusive environments where people feel valued and empowered
Following the closure of Building Futures East, I worked alongside two colleagues to establish Eastend Futures, a Community Interest Company created to continue supporting the community. This new organisation builds on our shared experience and commitment, with a focus on employability, supporting those affected by domestic abuse, and providing an emergency food bank for those in need who engage with our services.
I am a highly personable and adaptable professional with a diverse background spanning customer service, administration, finance, and community engagement. I spent six years at BFE, beginning as a receptionist—a role I particularly valued for the opportunity to build strong relationships and connect with a wide range of individuals. Over time, I progressed to take on additional administrative and financial responsibilities, drawing on the experience and organisational skills I developed while successfully running my own catering business for over ten years.
I thrive in hands-on roles that involve collaboration and making a meaningful impact. Whether supporting the efficient running of an organisation or contributing to community-focused initiatives, I am motivated by opportunities to make a positive difference.
As I move forward alongside Dawn and Fiona with our new Community Interest Company, Eastend Futures, I am excited about the opportunities ahead. Our work will focus on delivering one-to-one employability support, the Freedom Programme, and operating a foodbank for our service users. As our funding streams develop, we plan to expand our offer to include a wider range of wellbeing activities to further support the community.
